Alan Devonshire may have watched Hampton & Richmond crash in the play-off final, but he hopes he will be backing a winner come June 7.
The West Ham United legend's four-legged namesake gave owner - and Hammers nut - Russell Trew a weekend to remember when he finished second at Lingfield on Saturday to qualify for next month's Epsom Derby.
Dev, who will join Trew and Hollywood actor Ray Winstone in top hat and tails for the race on Derby day, has tipped the horse for big things.
"It was the horse's first race, so to come from eight lengths back and miss out by two-and-half lengths to a good horse, shows he is going to be in good shape for the big race," he said. "It should be a good day."
