A 17-year-old boy and a 21-year-old man have been questioned by police over the stabbing at a Feltham birthday party that was advertised on an internet networking site.

A 21-year-old man was left fighting for his life and a teenage girl suffered a stab wound after violence erupted at the bash in a garage in Uxbridge Road.

The party turned into a nightmare just after midnight on Saturday when a fight erupted and a 16-year-old girl was knifed in the stomach.

Hounslow police have said parents were at the party - which was advertised on a social networking site - but trouble flared after gate-crashers arrived.

The girl's 21-year-old friend was stabbed in the leg before the violence spilled out on to the street and the victim was chased into Hampton Road West as he made a desperate bid to escape.

His attackers caught up with him at Hanworth Kebab House, dragged him out and stabbed him in the back.

Staff at the restaurant tried to help the man but he was later found collapsed in a pool of blood.

Paramedics and police officers gave the victim first aid before he was taken to Charing Cross Hospital where he was treated for serious internal injuries.

Superintendent Simon Phipps, of Hounslow police, said: "This was an isolated incident which started off as just a birthday party.

"There was nothing unusual at the party until a group of gatecrashers arrived.

"Somebody somewhere along the line seems to have advertised this party on a social networking site. We know somebody came over from east London.

"It would have been useful if when the trouble started then somebody could have given us a call because a lot of times we can nip this in the bud."

Detectives believe at least two people were involved in the stabbings. They have questioned a 17-year-old boy from Feltham and a 21-year-old man from Ilford and released both on bail pending further enquiries.

The 21-year-old victim remains in a stable condition in hospital and the teenage girl has been discharged.

Detective Inspector Jeff Minns said up to 30 youths were at the party and many have contacted police, but none have named who was carrying the knife.

He also urged any passengers on a bus that passed the kebab house to come forward.

He said: "This was a serious assault with the victim lucky to be still alive."
